Time is Flying!!!

SO much time has passed since our last post. we have had such a wonderful summer and have a lot of catching up to do! First off we had our second year anniversary on July 2. we went down to Utah for the week. it was really fun to be there for the 4th of July and see family. July also meant Hazels big ONE year birthday!!!!!!!! we had a watermelon themed party and she had a great time. the smashing of the cake took some getting used to, but she got the hang of it once she realized mom and dad weren't going to get mad at her for making a mess with her food! (not sure if that a good thing to let your kids get away with...) This summer was really hot! so we spent a lot of time out side and at Henderson Pool. The family reunion was also a highlight! Camping out near Glenwood right next to the river proved to be a great time. The nights were a bit cold and we worried about Hazel freezing, but it was all worth it. Spending time with family in the great out doors is always a memorable experience. Well Fall is here and the leaves are already piling up. Our little garden gave us a plentiful harvest. we are drowning in tomato juice! we grew three pumpkins this year as well, a first for us! we also bought a new car, is a 2001 VW Jetta TDI!!!! Going strong with the Garner Volkswagen history. Life is rolling here at the Walters house! we are happy and very blessed.

Springtime!!!!

It is always so refreshing to have it warm up, and see things come back to life!

speaking of things coming to life... have i mentioned that Hazel is 9 months old, and she is a mover!
She is still doing the army crawl, but she is pretty darn good at it! she does multiple laps around our house through the day, and seems to find....EVERYTHING!! and, puts it into her mouth of course!! so, multiple times throughout the day we see her sneeky little look, and then see her chewing on something. so we have to try and pry her mouth open to get it out. and that usually doesnt go over very well! Here are just a few things she has attempted to digest:
pebbles, hairballs, nuts, chocolate chips (she actually got those ones down... she was lucky with that one!) pieces of fabric, a chunk of an onion..... and the list goes on.
so, i need to be a bit more vigilant these days i guess!
We sure love her though!

Here is our little Easter bunny!! (thanks to Kristy for all the fun Easter presents!!)

This girl loves to laugh!

7 months old?!!?

So, Hazel is just over 7 months old already!!! it is so crazy! it's true when they (whoever "they" are) say that time just flys when you start having kids!
Hazel is really changing! not so much on the outside, She is just a tiny little one still. But her personality is really starting to come out alot more. She is sitting up on her own, she loves to roll around on the floor, she is singing and squeeking LOTS more (and continues to get louder and somehow, more high pitched too!....didnt know that was possible!!?!...)She especially loves it when Dad comes home! She gets sooo excited, she squeeks and giggles so much more just as soon as he walks through the door! she also has started to do the army crawl around our living room. she grabs our shag carpet and pulls herself around and around.
I am starting to realize that the days of a semi- clean house most of the time are over. let the baby-proofing begin!!!
We sure do love Hazel!! she is such a pleasant little joy in our home, and she continues to just get more and more fun!
I love that i can play with her and take care of her all day! I wouldn't change it for anything! :)
here are a few pictures:

A new year!

So for a while now i have really been wanting to blog about having a good food storage, i have been putting it off.... I just dont know why it is so hard to just do the things that we know we should do!?!? duhhh?!....... procrastination...... its bad!
so anyways! i am proud of myself because i have really been thinking that i need to just get a few things here and there just to have at least a start to our food storage, and i finally did! i went to the cannery and got a bit of a start on a food storage.
it feels better!
i dont have much, just a few cans of this and that, but i know it is important to at least have something! After all, how long have we been warned?!
I found a quote a while ago that i thought was really good! and true!

Too often we bask in our comfortable complacency and rationalize that the ravages of war, economic disaster, famine, and earthquake cannot happen here. Those who believe this are either not acquainted with the revelations of the Lord, or they do not believe them. Those who smugly think these calamities will not happen, that they somehow will be set aside because of the righteousness of the Saints, are deceived and will rue the day they harbored such a delusion.
- Ezra Taft Benson.

hopefully this year we can all be motivated to try a little harder to be a little bit better! especially with not procrastinating what matters.

Our Christmas

Well, this year we were really lucky. we got to spend Christmas in Montana at Sterlings families cabin! And all of my family was able to be there! it was fun to be able to just relax and catch up with family we have not seen in a while!
It was so beautiful down there, and so much fun! We were able to see a bit of snow, we went skating, sledding, played some fun games, and mostly just hung out and watched all the kids go crazy! I am so glad we got to be there all together! families are the best!
We dont have tons of pictures, but here are a few:

so pretty!
